TRL has been a staple of music, entertainment and pop culture since its inception. By taking our current social and political climate into consideration, MTV relaunched its trailblazing series to focus on music, culture, trending topics and current events. With bite-sized segments highlighting trending Tweets, Snapchats, lip synch battles, and dance-offs, each segment required its own unique branding. To accomplish this, I helped create a vibrant and flexible language of custom emojis and dynamic type to showcase today’s most important cultural moments.
